WHAT WILL CHANGE IN 2023?
SUBSIDY STOP FOR PLUG-IN HYBRIDS
From January 1, 2023, there will no longer be an environmental bonus for plug-in hybrids. The bonus will be reduced for e-cars. With a net list price of 40,000 euros, the state pays a subsidy of 4,500 euros, the manufacturer
2,250 euros. That makes 6,750 euros. Previously it was 9,000 euros. From a net list price of 65,000 euros, the state only pays 3,000 euros instead of 5,000 euros. The manufacturer gives 1,500 euros. From September 1, only private individuals will be able to apply for this bonus. In addition, the federal government is capping the subsidies at 2.1 billion euros. Once this has been used up, there will be no more money. From 2024, a further 1.3 billion euros will be available. Then only for vehicles with a net list price of up to 45,000 euros.
DRIVER’S LICENSE EXCHANGE
Whether your driving license is grey or pink – it doesn’t matter …It will soon have to be exchanged. Those born between 1959 and 1964 must exchange their driver’s license by January 19, 2023, regardless of when it was issued. Anyone caught with the old driving license document will have to pay 10 euros and present the new license to the police, otherwise they will face a fine. Those born between 1965 and 1970 must exchange by January 19, 2024
TYPE CLASSES
On January 1, 2023, the type classes for car insurance will be revised. Around 4.8 million customers will pay less, while around 8 million will pay more. Nothing will change for the remaining 29.3 million (70 percent) policyholders. In fully comprehensive insurance, around 4 percent of vehicles (approx. 1.1 million cars) will receive a higher rating and around 34 percent (approx. 8.3 million cars) a lower rating. In partially comprehensive insurance, around 5 percent (around 600,000 vehicles) will slip into higher type classes and 37 percent (around 4.8 million vehicles) into lower ones.
FIRST-AID KIT CONTENTS
The first aid kit DIN standard 13 164 was updated in February 2022. Two new medical masks have been added. Section 35h StVZO regulates which first-aid kits are permitted in cars. DIN 13 164 as of January 1998 and January 2014 are currently still listed there, but the new first aid kits may already be used. Important: Old ones do not have to be replaced today, nor is it necessary to add two masks, explains ADAC.
HU-PLAKETTE is now ORANGE
In 2023, all cars with a pink TÜV sticker on the license plate will have to undergo an inspection. After passing the test, the inspector will then affix an orange sticker to the rear license plate. These cars will not have to undergo a general inspection again until 2025. A three-year period applies to new vehicles (cars and motorhomes up to 3.5 tons). They receive a blue TÜV sticker.
GHG-QUOTE
In 2023, e-car owners will again be able to sell THG certificates. All the owner has to do is present the vehicle registration certificate (registration certificate part 1). The amount is paid out once a year. Private individuals do not have to pay income tax on the proceeds. If the e-car is part of the business assets, the proceeds are taxable.
I wish you a healthy and happy 2023 and a safe journey at all times.
