GWP (recurring leak test)

GWP – Periodic leak test on gas systems for vehicle operation

An independent inspection of the gas system is carried out at regular intervals on gas-powered vehicles.

In contrast to the one-off GSP (gas system installation test), the GWP is the recurring leak test of the gas system. It is normally carried out as part of the main inspection. However, the GWP can also be carried out individually – shortly before the main inspection (max. 12 months).

All registered gas systems in vehicles, including those that are not approved in accordance with the European regulation ECE-R115, are checked in the GWP.

This examination includes:

  • Identification of the vehicle and the gas system
  • Checking the condition of the gas system
  • Checking the prescribed fastening and installation of the individual components
  • Checking the gas system for leaks

The following documents must be brought to the GWP:

  • Approval according to ECE-R115 (if available)
  • Vehicle documents

Extraordinary GWP

In addition to the periodic leak test, there is also the extraordinary leak test, which is carried out by workshops recognized for this activity, in the event of repair and maintenance of the gas system or after an accident or vehicle fire.
