In 2023, all cars with a pink TÜV sticker on the license plate will have to undergo an inspection. After passing the test, the inspector will then affix an orange sticker to the rear license plate. These cars will not have to undergo a general inspection again until 2025. A three-year period applies to new vehicles (cars and motorhomes up to 3.5 tons). They receive a blue TÜV sticker.

The amount is paid out once a year. Private individuals do not have to pay income tax on the proceeds. If the e-car is part of the business assets, the proceeds are taxable.
